Self Care Prayer And Meditation Enhance Immunity

Self Care Prayer & Meditation

Prayer and Meditation can help tremendously toward immune health. In fact, research shows we can find significant positive impact to our health, when we use prayer and meditation as a daily practice. Who would think?!!

God knew. (hee hee hee)

Are your experiences similar to mine? Prayer is something I have practiced all my life. My first experiences were the night time prayers, that I recited:

Now I lay me down to sleep. I pray the Lord, my soul to keep.

If I should die before I wake, I pray the Lord, my soul to take.

Now that I look back, I think, “Oh my word! Why didn’t this scare me, as a kid?” Just praying about the idea that I could die in my sleep .  Was this prayer supposed to settle a child’s mind?

Prayer and meditation is one of the five daily routines we can do to boost our immune system. Another routine we can use is singing and humming for health. Have you read about this one?

Self Care Prayer & Meditation Benefits

It is easy to carry out in all kinds of settings – This can go with you everywhere you go.  It doesn’t take any room in a suitcase, backpack, or purse.

It can be adjusted to you and your personal style – prayer and meditation is a deeply personal practice between you and God. I will be writing more details about various ways to bring prayer and meditation into a practice that best suits YOU.

It helps us feel connected with God – we are able to understand life and the way God is directing our days.

It offers us a way to become grounded and settled – here is where we can offer up our worries for God’s tending. The buzzing worry of our life can fade back, while we focus upon God.

It is a time to practice gratitude – practicing gratitude helps us to raise our energetic vibration… that is a HUGE impact upon our happiness and health!

OK…How Does This Help With My Immunity?

I will write more details in my next article.  For now, I will give you this preview. Health benefits of prayer and meditation have been put through the paces in research. Here is a brief list of health benefits researchers have discovered:

  • Blood pressure regulation
  • Lower stress levels
  • Lessened inflammation
  • More efficiency of metabolic processes

Self Care Prayer and Meditation Beginning Steps

You may be well-practiced in doing this. Or perhaps you only know only one part of this immune boosting duo.

Whether or not you are familiar with praying and meditating, I suggest you try it.

It is quite possible you will find happiness and health in the process.

Prayer and meditation doesn’t have to be a complicated experience.  Take a quiet moment to sit, walk, or lie down. Share your thoughts with God.  Use this time as a Brain Dump. Pour out all your thoughts, worries, frustrations, desires, dreams, and hopes. He will be there and listen.

After the Brain Dump, take just a bit longer. Now is the time for you to be quieted.  This is your listening experience.  If you find this difficult to do, just focus upon your breath, the sound of the room, or a calm visual image.  This is the meditation moment. Let God take His time to speak to you.  Sometimes His inspiration is quite innovative. Sometimes He will give you solutions you never dreamed of on your own.

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
Be acceptable in Your sight,
O Lord, my rock and my Redeemer. Psalm 19:14

I like to apply this verse to my prayer and meditation exercises. It is my way to connect with God. Prayer and meditation is a two-way communication between God and myself. And I love that doing this can also help my immunity become stronger.

It’s my hope today’s article helps you to Enjoy Your Healthy Life!
