Water’s Spiritual Meaning – A Deeper Look

Water's Spiritual Meaning - A Deeper Look

Water’s spiritual meaning – a deeper look that can address our core emotions.

Water has a spiritual meaning for our physical and spiritual well being.

We NEED water to sustain our physical body. If we don’t have enough water within a day, we will die. Water is a foundational element in our lives.

Water is a core element in the balance of our planet. Rain, snow, fresh water, salt water all maintain the perfect balance that keeps our planet functioning. If a drought occurs, the entire balance can be disrupted.

Water is a stabilizer for our emotional health too. In this article, I’ve written about how dehydration affects our emotions. https://blogshayolihope.com/how-do-dehydration-and-mood-swings-work/

Water’s spiritual meaning – a deeper look in the Bible

Let’s look at my favorite spiritual source in order to answer this question. We can look at Bible verses that refer to water. Many of these verses emphasize physical situations at the simplistic level. These same verses often represent deeper, more spiritual significance, too.

Water signifies the spiritual things of faith….

bringing a cleansing action.

Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again,  but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” John 4:13,14
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you.
When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. Isaiah 43:2

There are other passages in the Bible

where waters and river signify falsities and purging.

For forty days the flood kept coming on the earth, and as the waters increased they lifted the ark high above the earth. Genesis 7:17
This people hath refused the waters of Shiloah that go softly; therefore behold the Lord bringeth up upon them the waters of the river, strong and many, and he shall go over all his banks Isaiah 8:6, 7
“Who is this that rises like the Nile, like rivers of surging waters?
Egypt rises like the Nile, like rivers of surging waters.
She says, ‘I will rise and cover the earth; I will destroy cities and their people.’ Jeremiah 46:7, 8

Water’s Spiritual Meaning In Satisfaction And Life

Jesus is called the Living Water. When we come to him, we find satisfaction that is similar to quenching our thirst. We won’t be thirsting for anything in this world after experiencing Christ.

He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, ‘From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.’” John 7:38

Water’s spiritual meaning – This song truly matches the beat of my heart, the images of water, and the way Christ works in us!

Jesus Christ can cleanse us, satisfy us, and has provided us with the way to experience forgiveness and eternal life. The spiritual meaning of water is to show us Jesus Christ. THIS is the biggest reason I love water! You gotta know I am dancing while this song plays.

Well, right
So, so well
Well, right
So, so high as the sun come out
Plannin’, bootin’
Plannin’, movin’
Plannin’, tubin’, there, well, well
Clean us like the rain in spring
Take the chlorine out our conversation
Let Your light reflect on me
I promise I’m not hiding anything
It’s water
We are water
Pure as water
Like a newborn daughter
The storm may come
But we’ll get through it because of Your love
Either way, we crash like water
Your love’s water
Pure as water
We are water
Jesus, flow through us
Jesus, heal the bruises
Jesus, clean the music
Jesus, please use us
Jesus, please help
Jesus, please heal
Jesus, please forgive
Jesus, please reveal
Jesus, give us strength
Jesus, make us well
Jesus, help us live
Jesus, give us wealth
Jesus is our safe
Jesus is our rock
Jesus, give us grace
Jesus, keep us safe
Clean us like the rain in spring
Take the chlorine out our conversation
Let Your light reflect on me
I promise I’m not hiding anything
It’s water
We are water
Pure as water
Like a newborn daughter
We like water, hmm
We like water
Well, right
So, so well
Well, right
So, so high as the sun come out
Plannin’, bootin’
Plannin’, movin’
Plannin’, tubin’, there, well, well

Water’s spiritual meaning – a deeper look in my own life

Have you heard about Dr. Ihaleakala Hew Len? He is a Hawaiian psychiatrist who prayed over a horrid prison facility for the criminally insane. The short story, this facility was so depressing, that staff usually quit. The inmates frequently attacked or murdered staff and other inmates. Dr. Len started using a simple Hawaiian cleansing prayer called Ho’oponopono The prayer uses these simple phrases:

I love you, I’m sorry, Please forgive me, Thank you.

Each day, Dr. Len looked over the inmates’ files. He would walk the corridors, praying. He never actually met with the inmates. In time, the entire mood and environment of the prison had changed…It had IMPROVED! Most of those inmates improved to the point that they could transfer into regular prison population. People started asking what Dr. Len’s techniques were, that caused this change. He truthfully said all he had done was read the files and pray. His prayer process was a cleansing of the sins of himself and everyone else.

“The only purpose in your life and mine is the restoration of our Identity—
our Mind—back to its original state of void or zero,
of purity of heart and of blank through nonstop cleaning.”

Water’s spiritual meaning connects with this prayer

Dr. Len also suggests using water as a spiritual cleansing tool. He suggests filling a blue glass bottle with tap water, set in in sunlight for 10-60 minutes. This serves to charge the water with healing energies. Dr. Len says drinking this water will remove recurring “memories” or programs that run in our subconscious. Drinking this water can free us from the effects of the memories. He believes this action will free us from the effects of the memories and it will allow us to “let go and let God.”

Water Experiment: “I Love You, I Hate You”

Masaru Emoto was a Japanese scientist, who studied the molecular structure of water. He wanted to know whether human thoughts and emotions have any impact on water. This is a fascinating demonstration of the power of our emotions and words in relation to water.

I have chosen to bless my drinking water (when I remember to do so). Since water is SO important in our lives, I decided to use it in the best possible way. I whisper into my glass before drinking it:

I love you.

God bless you.

The Lord bless you and keep youthe Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to youthe Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.

Have you ever considered blessing your water? Do you think this will enhance the spiritual meaning of water for you?

Enjoy your healthy life!
