What Are The Best Sugar Substitutes?

What Are The Best Sugar Substitutes?

What Are The Best Sugar Substitutes? In my recent articles I’ve pointed out how sugar affects the gut. And while it would seem easy to trade table sugar with artificial sweeteners, there are HUGE gut problems with that too!

Wait A Minute! There Don’t Seem To Be Any Healthy Options for Sugar!

“You’re saying sugar is unhealthy. So I figure I’ll leap over to one of the artificial sweeteners. BUT then you say those are unhealthy too! This seems like an impossible change with no answers!”

There ARE ways to limit sugar without artificial sweeteners. REALLY!

I’ve got to admit that SUGAR and ARTIFICIAL SWEETENERS are my biggest front to personally fight in the War Against Toxins, in particular refined sugars. Refined sugars have almost no nutritional value. REALLY!

Our bodies need glucose to maintain health. BUT….this glucose is only needed in small amounts, which should be provided from complex sources that are whole and unprocessed.

So What ARE The Best Sugar Substitutes?

God gave us some pretty darn wonderful sources of healthy carbs, that are sources of glucose (sugar). REALLY!

So the big plan in this battle against refined sugar is our Addiction within the Sweet Tooth.

Let’s take a look at some healthier options to replace refined table sugar and artificial sweeteners:

  • Sucanet
  • Raw Honey
  • Organic Maple Syrup
  • Molasses
  • Date Paste
  • Applesauce, organic, with no added sugar
  • Demerara sugar
  • Coconut sugar
  • Agave nectar
  • Monk fruit extract

Can I Substitute These Items Completely While Getting Rid Of Sugar?

Well… Yes, in a way.

  • These substitutes STILL have calories, so it’s possible to gain weight anyway
  • You’re still feeding your Sweet Tooth, which demands ever more sweets

My biggest tip for you, and for ME is this:

Learn to greatly reduce your intake of sugar in every form. Control the addiction to sugar. Train your tastebuds to enjoy the natural sugar in fruit and veggies.
